The Indian Athlete Gomathi Marimuthu who made headlines after winning the Gold in the Asian Athletics Championship has failed the dope test.
Gomathi’s sample ‘A’ has returned positive for a banned substance, Steroid, during the test in Doha and now will face suspension until the other sample result.
If the Sample ‘B’ turns positive, the athlete will be banned for four years and will lose the Gold medal.
It looks like the athlete failed the dope test even during the Federation Cup held in March but the Athletic Association wasn’t aware of the same.
However, Gomathi has stated that she is unaware of the incident and swore that she has never taken any drugs in her life but had only mineral water before the race.
